Breakfast sponsored to differently / specially abled girls at missionary near jessore road, micheal nagar kolkata on 29th september 2019
According to the census report of 2001, the differently abled population of the country was estimated to be over 21 million, which was 2.1% of the total population of the country. In 2011, the population of differently abled people was almost 27 million, showing an increase of 22.4% between 2001 and 2011. The differently abled population is categorised into people with movement disability, people who are hearing impaired and visually impaired.
In order to make this section of our differently abled population in India live a stable and comfortable life, to make them economically sound, to overcome their challenges and make them face the society with confidence, Prayaas2help had come up with the thought to sponsor the breakfast at missionary being a home for around 300 specially abled girls.
20 members of team Prayaas had planned an early morning visit to the missionary and served the breakfast (viz. idly, chutney, banana, and sweet) to all the differently abled girls. The event was truly a great success as it made all the participating members happy and all experienced the true sense of inner happiness. Giving back to society is as good for you as it is for those you are helping, because giving gives you purpose. We would like to conclude with the following Chinese quote which is apt to the occasion.
“If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”
